e-SERVICES
The services which are at present offered through the Skandia Container Terminal e-business Portal (e-Services) are listed below.
The range of services could be changed during the time and Skandia Container Terminal reserves the right, without prior notice, to change the content and specifications of the services provided under e-Services.
The Skandia Container Terminal decides which e-Services a user shall have access to. Certain services require special authorisation, e.g. CATOS, TICS-E, TICS-L, LAO and eDIST/webtel.
Affiliated users can only access information for the company to which the user is linked.
PUBLIC FUNCTIONS
Public functions can be used by anyone and no password is required.
Arrivals & Departures
Information about arrivals/departures at the Port of Göteborg.
BASE FUNCTIONS
Base functions are free of charge. You must have submitted an application and been approved as a user. Base functions are the general functions the Port of Göteborg companies has chosen to provide to approved users whose needs can be justified. Base functions are presented in the system below
BASE FUNCTIONS – TERMINAL
CATOS - Cargo Management
Used by Shipping Companies and Shipping Agents who place transport orders with Container Terminal:
- Create orders (Export and Discharge, Release, Positioning In/Out, Empty Loading Reservation).
- Follow up, Edit and Delete orders.
- Search for Containers, Orders, Vessel Schedules etc.
CATOS - Rail Pre-Notification (RPS)
The main purpose of the Rail Pre-Notification system is to allow Rail Operators to Pre-Notify containers and loose goods on trains coming in and out of Container Terminal.
It also allows rail operators to create Storage orders for units that come in via train and then are picked up either by truck or by another train.
CATOS - Truck Pre-Notification (TPS)
The main purpose of the Truck Pre-Notification system is to allow Trucking Companies to pre-notify Container Terminal about a visit, and to receive the visit code that is necessary in order to make a pick-up/drop-off.
When pre-notifying a visit the trucking company will specify what units are to be picked-up and/or dropped-off, and once all those units are cleared the Visit Code will be issued.
TICS-E (unit-prepared freight)
Includes general functions for booking, unit, journey, bay plan, lists which are distributed by e-mail. To use TICS-E, your company must have an approved shipping line code.
Unit Information (special)
Each shipping line can allow a partner to view limited information about their units. The functions available are "leavable/collectable" and "seal".
Note that your company must be approved by the shipping line/agent in question before the e-Services application can be made.
TICS-L (bulk freight)
Includes general functions for booking, load report, UPL. In order to use TICS-L your company must have an approved shipping line code.
LAO (small work order)
Includes general functions for a work order. In order to use LAO your company must have an approved shipping line code.
e-DIST/webtel – Pre-notification Roro
Functions for advance notification of tractor units entering the Roro Terminal to collect/drop off units.
PreCom Roro Damage report
Reporting of units damaged before loading or unloading. Each customer/shipping line receives information about units reported as well as the extent of the damage.
BASE FUNCTIONS – PORT CONTROL
Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS)
Around 11,000 vessels put into the Port of Göteborg each year. It is compulsory to notify the arrival of a vessel 24 hours in advance. The Port of Göteborg offers brokers and shipping lines the opportunity to deal with this procedure quickly and conveniently through Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS).
To be granted authorisation, it is required that the company has vessels that put into the Port of Göteborg.
In conjunction with your application for the service, you will receive a personal user ID which is linked to the company you work for. If you already have a user ID, you can enter it into the new system.
VTMS includes the following functions:
- Vessel registration
- Reporting the arrival of vessels, including reports dealing with hazardous goods, waste and other peripheral services
- Ordering of services whilst in the port, such as sludge, fresh water or information about repairs
- AIS system to indicate the location of the vessel using an AIS signal and map
SUPPLEMENTARY FUNCTIONS
The Skandia Container Terminal charges for the use of supplementary functions. In addition to a general agreement, a separate price agreement is signed for each customer. The Skandia Container Terminal approves those users whose needs can be justified. Supplementary functions are not available at present.

INTERFACE e-SERVICES
e-Services are adapted for use with the following web browsers: Explorer, version 5.5 and upwards. The Skandia Container Terminal cannot guarantee the functioning of e-Services with older versions or with web browsers other than the ones stated above. A modem link (speed 56 Kbit) is not recommended for performance reasons.
CATOS and VTMS is adapted for use with the following web browsers: Internet Explorer 6.0 or later. CATOS is also adapted for use with Firefox 3.0 or later. This e-Service requires that Adobe Flash Player 9 or later is installed and that the web browser is run under Windows XP or later.
